Faith toward GOD

9 And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.

10 And straightway coming up out of the water, He saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon Him:

11 And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art whom I am well pleased.

12 And immediately the Spirit driveth Him into the wilderness.

13 And He was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him.

14 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,

15 And saying, The time is fulfilled and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

--- Mark 1:9-15

Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist to fulfill all righteousness. That is no one is excused of from being baptized. He did not get baptized to repent of sin, but to be an example to all of us. If Jesus was baptized with water what will prevent any of us from being water baptized. The Spirit then came upon Jesus and anointed Him and shortly after that the Spirit led Him into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. After fasting for 40 days and being tempted of the devil Jesus cam into Galilee preaching the good news of the kingdom of God saying it is time the kingdom of God is at hand repent and believe the good news.

The second principle of the doctrine of Christ is to exchange a life of dead works unto a life of faith upon God. Dead works brings us under the dominion of sin and death and is the result of the Adamic nature that came from the fall of Adam and Eve. Faith toward God brings us under the dominion of grace which is the release of the divine nature of Christ after He lived a life of complete obedience until the death on the cross. The believer is called or invited to live and walk by faith as it is written.

17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it written, The just shall live by faith.

 --- Romans 1:17

11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for; The just shall live by faith.

 --- Galatians 3:11

38 Now the just shall live by faith:...

 --- Hebrews 10:38

7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

 --- 2 Corinthians 4:7

The righteous live and walk by faith. In Christ you believe and then act, your actions that are the response of a heart that believe. A heart that is dependent on God to provide the grace to live rather than depending on one's own works to meet the demands of righteousness. It is faith toward God that makes a man righteous before God which enables him to begin the true journey of right living. Only that which done in faith is truly acceptable to God. All else is not pleasing to God and is considered sin.

6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for He that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is the rewarder of them that diligently seek Him

--- Hebrews 11:6

23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is .sin

--- Romans 14:23

It is impossible to do anything that truly pleases God if if is not done in faith. The world is so out of harmony with God that the way to recover and restore the world to harmony with God through faith.
