The Manifestations of Glory

7 Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.

8 And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.

9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,

10 And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.

11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.

--- John 2:1-11

There are Glory Manifestations revealed in the scriptures. The glory manifests in two ways.

  1. Manifestation of the Glory in the Sons of God

  2. Manifestation of the Glory of God

The Manifestation of the Glory in the Sons of God

18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,

21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

--- Romans 8:18-22

18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

2 Corinthians 3:18

The Glory of God gives the mature Sons of God glory abilities. These glory abilities were manifest through Christ, the apostles, and prophets. Some of these abilities are:

  • Ascending

  • Descending

  • Transfiguration

  • Translation

  • Spirit Travel

Ascending

1 It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord.

2 I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.

2 Corinthians 12:1-2

1 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.

2 And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.

--- Revelation 4:1-2

The ascending glory manifestation is the ability to ascend into the heavens. The apostles Paul and John ascended into heaven. There are some who ascend continuously and they are ascenders, and there are some who have only had one or few occasions of ascending.

Descending

1 And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit.

2 And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.

3 And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.

--- Revelation 9:1-3

Descending is the glory ability to descend into hell and see what is going on there. Like ascending there are some who ascenders, with descending some are descenders. There are more ascenders than there are descenders.

Transfiguration

1 And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,

2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.

3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.

--- Matthew 17:1-3

13 And not as Moses, which put a veil over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:

2 Corinthians 3:13

Transfiguration is another glory manifestation. Jesus was transfiguration on the mountain with Peter, James, and John. Moses was also transfigured on the mountain when met with God and received the law. When He came down from the mount he had to cover his face with veil.

Translation

39 And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.

40 But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached in all the cities, till he came to Caesarea.

--- Acts 8:38-39

Philip after the persecution that started after the martyr of Stephen went down to Samaria. There he preached Christ and healed the sick. Many believed and got saved and were water baptized. From there he had a vision of an angel of God who instructed him where to go which led him to an eunuch of the queen of Ethiopia named Candace. Philip led the eunuch to the Lord and water baptized him and as the eunuch came out of the water Philip was translated by the Holy Spirit to another area.

Spirit Travel

25 But he went in, and stood before his master. And Elisha said unto him, Whence comest thou, Gehazi? And he said, Thy servant went no whither.

26 And he said unto him, Went not mine heart with thee, when the man turned again from his chariot to meet thee? Is it a time to receive money, and to receive garments, and oliveyards, and vineyards, and sheep, and oxen, and menservants, and maidservants?

27 The leprosy therefore of Naaman shall cleave unto thee, and unto thy seed for ever. And he went out from his presence a leper as white as snow.

--- 2 Corinthians 5:25-27

9 And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.

10 And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.

--- Acts 16:9-10

Spirit travel is another glory manifestation to supernatural ability to travel spiritually. Naaman was Syrian officer and he was told by a Jewish girl told him that the prophet Elisha could cure him of his leprosy. Naaman went to Israel to Elisha when he got to the home Elijah sent his servant to Naaman to go dip seven times in the River Jordan. Naaman was offended for two reasons. First, he was offended because Elisha did not personally entertain him. Second he was offended because the River Jordan was so dirty and not the highest quality of river water. The servant of Naaman than convinced him he had nothing to lose by doing what the prophet said. Naaman went to the Jordan dipped seven times and was cleansed when he came the seventh time. Naaman rejoiced and came to Elisha to offer him gifts, but Elisha declined his gifts.

After Elisha declined the gifts of Naaman the servant of Elisha whose name was Gehazi followed Naaman and his entourage. When he caught up to them he lied to Naaman and told him that Elisha had changed his mind. Naaman gave Gehazi some gifts that took and hid. When he saw Elisha again Elisha asked him where did he go, Gehazi lied and said he had not gone anywhere. Elisha let him know that he had travelled with him in the spirit and saw everything he did and Elisha cursed Gehazi with the leprosy that had been on Naaman.

Another example of spirit travel was that a man from Macedonian came to Paul in a town call Mysia. Paul saw the man in a vision, who requested that Paul to come and preach in Macedonia.
