Christ The Prototype

15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;

--- Colossians 1:15-19

Prototype is the original type, form, or kind on which something. A prototype is someone or something that is the model or the inspiration for something that comes afterwards. The prototype is the first of its kind or type. Prototype is two words proto which means first and type which means a particular kind of something. Chris the Word made flesh was and is the prototype of the creation and the new creation.

The Word - The Prototype of the Creation

  • Image of the invisible God

  • Firstborn of every creature

  • In Him where all things created

  • All things were created through Him and unto Him

  • He is before all things

  • By Him all things consist

Image of the invisible God

8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.

9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?

--- John 14:8-9

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

--- John 1:1-2

Philip requested that Jesus would show them the Father, Jesus response was that he that had seen Him had seen the Father. The Father gave birth to the creation in His thoughts with the intent that every thing in creation would reflect Him. Inside of God were His thoughts inside Him was all. He was God and that is all there was. God is life and everything that comes from is alive. He was in and with God. As Creator He would be separate from the creation but at same time through all creation and in all creation. God begin creation by reproducing Himself as the Word. The Word was the very image of God and was used by God to create all things.

The firstborn of every creature

11 For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.

12 I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.

13 The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

14 Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.

15 By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.

16 By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth.

17 I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.

18 Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.

19 My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver.

20 I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment:

21 That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.

22 The Lord possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.

23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.

24 When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.

25 Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth:

26 While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world.

27 When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:

28 When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:

29 When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:

30 Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;

31 Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.

--- Proverbs 8:11-31

Christ was in God and was God, the Logos. God and His Word are one. The Word was the part of God came and created everything. The Word or Logos was the part of God that was in every creation. God possessed Him in the beginning of His way and the Word from everlasting. He was the firstborn of every creature, He would reflect God and all the creation would reflect. Him. He would represent God to the creation and represent the creation to God.

In Him was all things created

16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers:

--- Colossians 1:16

The Word was firstborn of all creatures because in Him were all things that are in heaven and upon the earth. Everything that is visible and invisible, seen and unseen were made by Him. There are four realms of His creation.

  • Thrones - Seats of power

  • Dominion - Territories of lords or governments

  • Principalities - Princes

  • Powers - Authority power

All things were created through Him, and for Him

3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

--- John 1:3

The Word of Logos made all things and there was not anything that was made without Him. The Father used the Word to bring forth everything. All things came into being through Him and it was all for Him.

He is before all things

14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;

--- Revelation 3:14

The Word was before all things and He was the beginning of the creation of God. Before anything was created He already was there ready to create all the Father desired that was good.

By Him all things consist

1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:

--- Hebrews 11:1-3

God made the worlds that is ages by the Son who was the Word from the beginning. The word "worlds" is the Greek word aion which means ages or eras. He upholds all things by the word of His power. He brings forth all by rhema of His dunamis. What He speaks must be so and must be upheld by His power since He spoke it. When He speaks He releases Himself.

Christ Jesus the Prototype of the New Creation

  • He is the head of the body, the church

  • He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead

  • He has the preeminence.

  • In Him all fulness dwells

Christ Jesus is Prototype of the church

29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

--- Romans 8:29

10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

--- Colossians 3:10

God ordained that every child of God would be conformed to the image of His Son Christ Jesus. He is the prototype of every child of God. Just as Christ is the image of the God we are called to be the image of Christ. The Father ordained that each one of us would reflect the likeness of Christ. That we demonstrate the many different faucets of the Lord. It is will of the Father that when people see us they see Christ.

Christ is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead

14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

---- Hebrews 2:14-15

14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

--- John 1:14

Christ became flesh and blood that He might teach all of creation the wisdom of the power of the new creation. There is power in the new creation that demonstrates love of God in ways that were not manifested before. Christ the Logos of God made flesh realities that were not known before. He brought forth the hidden things, the mysteries of the kingdom of the new creations.

Christ has the preeminence

20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,

21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,

--- Ephesians 1:20-22

9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

--- Philippians 2:8-11

Christ was raised from dead by the power of God for above everything and everyone over all principality, and authority, and power, and dominion. His place and position is in God at His mighty right hand, a place of ultimate preeminence. Christ is the preeminent one. As the most prominent one of God's creation He has been given a name above every name that is above every name in this age and all ages to come. All creation recognizes that name whether in heaven upon the earth and in hell.

In Him all fulness dwells

22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,

23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

--- Ephesians 1:22-23

For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

--- Colossians 2:9-10

Christ is fulness of the Godhead bodily. When you the Jesus you see the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit. He was the image of the Father, the Word made flesh and He was anointed with Holy Spirit and Power. And now God has ordained that that the fulness of Christ would fill each member of His body, that is the church. Christ is the prototype sent from heaven the Word made flesh, the only begotten of the Father.
